Barsha Heights, formerly known as TECOM, is a new commercial and residential district situated between The Greens community and Al Barsha. With construction beginning in the year 2006, the district is almost complete with some 90 completed towers and around 20 empty slots awaiting construction. The district is situated 2 kilometers away from Palm Jumeirah and is bounded by Sheikh Zayed Road, Hessa Street, and First Al Khail Street.
Dubai Internet City metro station is also situated close to Barsha Heights on Sheikh Zayed Road. The time needed to reach Dubai Marina by train is around 5 minutes, to Dubai Mall is around 23 minutes, and 52 minutes needed to reach the airport.
The proximity of Barsha Heights to Internet City, Media City and Knowledge Village, which are all situated on the opposite side of Sheikh Zayed Road, makes it a favorable place to live for those who work there. The district is also very well situated close to The Greens community, the Emirates Golf Club, the popular JBR Walk and Beach, and Dubai Marina.
Barsha Heights can very well be accessed by the Sheikh Zayed Road, the main highway running through Dubai, as well as to First Al Khail Street which can be very helpful when Sheikh Zayed Road is blocked by traffic. It takes only 12 minutes by car to reach Dubai Marina or Mall of the Emirates, 18 minutes to Dubai Mall and no more than half an hour to be at the airport.
