Al Gharayen

Located close to the Dubai – Sharjah border, Al Gharayen is a popular residential area in Sharjah and is close to many key areas such as University City, and Sharjah International Airport. It has 5 sub-communities of villas, numbered 1 – 5. Villas are fenced with high-boundary walls and the properties are tucked away from commercial areas, giving residents some extra privacy. Properties here are very big; the average size of a freehold villa is around 17,500 sq. ft. and this is available for a price between 21.M and 2.2M. Some are even built on plots exceeding 18,000 sq. ft. with demand reaching up to 2.7M. Some villas can be rented; a 4-bed rental house built over an area of 4000 sq. ft. for 85k.


Public transportation options are limited but the route of bus no. 15 passes along the border of the neighborhood.


Each sub-community has at least one grocery store of supermarket in it.

Places of Worship

There are numerous mosques such as Al Munaajah Mosque, Samrah Bin Jundub Mosque, and Sufyan Ibn Abdullah Al Thaqfi Mosque. Christians will find a cluster of churches only 20 minutes away in the community of Al Yarmook while Hindus can worship at India Sangatadham Gigaso, only 15 minutes away.


For parents who prefer private education, they can send their kids to Al Wahda Private School, Sharjah International Private School, or New World American Private School. For higher education, University City is adjacent to the community and hosts many great institutions like Al Qasimia University and American University of Sharjah.


Healthcare is also available with Royal Hospital being one of the leading hospitals in the community. There are clinics and hospitals nearby as well, such as Family Health Promotion Centre, and Ishaq Bin Omran Medical Centre.


Those who like going to malls will be pleased to find that there is a popular mall near Al Gharayen which is Matajer Al Juraina. It has plenty of retail outlets, offering a wide variety of products and good deals. For dining, there are several cafeterias offering quick refreshments, with more dining options concentrated around Taryam Omran Taryam Square and even more options in Zero 6 Mall (in University City). Families can have a lot of fun at Sharjah Centre for Astronomy & Space Sciences, based in University City. It is a planetarium that takes its visitors on a fascinating journey of space. This is also in addition to the amazing Sharjah National Park, spread out across 630,000 sq. ft.
