Al Badaa

Sharing borders with Jumeirah and Al Satwa, Al Badaa is a small community in western Dubai. The area is more of a residential community. Al Badaa is located in western Dubai where there are many tourist attractions. It is primarily a residential area with apartments, villas, and a few townhouses available only for rent for expats.


In terms of public transport options, Al Badaa is a well-connected area. There are several bus stops spread out all over the community and they connect to the rest of Dubai and to the Dubai Metro. The closest metro station is the Emirates Tower stop on Sheikh Zayed Road. It is reachable within 6 minutes
by car.


For shopping and grocery needs, there is a Carrefour Hypermarket in the Al Ghazal Mall. Spring Supermarket is the closest at only 4 minutes away while a large branch of the Spinneys can be spotted in Jumeirah, 6 min. away.

Places of Worship

The closest church is Emirates Baptist Church, 3 km away while The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is at a drive of 13 minutes. The Dubai City Church is also just 15 minutes away. For the Hindu residents, Shiva Temple and Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir are both about 17 minutes away in Bur Dubai. There are many beautifully built mosques in the neighborhood. Masjid Qurtobah, Ramadan Juma Mosque, Khadri Mosque, Al-Imam Al Shafie Mosque, and Ayesha Mosque are all nearby.


Al Badaa is one area in Dubai with a wide range of schools in its vicinity. Many of these are found in Jumeirah 1. A popular option among residents is the Jumeirah Baccalaureate School which offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Higher education options can be found in Knowledge Park which is only 20 minutes away. It is home to institutes such as the University of Manchester Dubai, Middlesex University Dubai, and the University of Wollongong Dubai.


There is a decent number of clinics and hospitals in Al Badaa to address the healthcare needs of residents. Herche Medical Centre, Arya Clinic, and the Community Health Centre of Al Badaa are the nearest clinics.


Al Ghazal Mall is on the border of Al Satwa and Al Badaa. The mall contains 72 stores, a beauty salon, and a large Carrefour Hypermarket. The urban outdoor malls by Meraas Group which are City Walk and BoxPark are also nearby. These offer residents many concept restaurants, outdoor recreational spots, and a few retail stores. For seaside fun, Dubai’s most famous beach, Jumeirah Beach is only 10 minutes away and Al Mamzar Beach is 23 minutes away. Coca-Cola Arena in City Walk is set to be an eventful destination. It will host concerts, comedy shows, and other entertainment events.

One important thing to consider is that Al Badaa is not a freehold area, so expats looking to purchase their home or invest in the area will have to look in other communities.
