Airport Street, an important part of Abu Dhabi allowing its residents to reach the north or the south area of the city easily. As Airport Street is the divider, the Emirates Palace district is on the west side and the Tourist Club area is on the east. It is a key point as Abu Dhabi is split down the middle by it connecting the entire capital together. Airport Street provides both commercial and residential properties. It is home to many high-rise apartment buildings that is close to the main city area. Most of the properties are part of the high-rise residential towers but there are a few villas as well. The area is suited to young singles and families alike. The studios are found in the Al Mushrif area close to Airport Street or the popular Al Taghreed Tower in the Madinat Zayed district. The rental studios in Al Taghreed Tower start with AED 35k, these are newly developed and quite spacious. The renting of a 1-bedroom flat starts from AED 37k to AED 55k. 2- bedroom and 3-BHK apartments for rent in Airport Street are popular amongst families. Popular buildings for 2-bed and 3-bed flats are in Owaida Tower, 1928 Building and Al Marjan Tower. There are also a few massive 4-bedroom flats, these are however rare to find. A few hotel apartments have started operations. These are fully furnished with serviced options but do rent at a higher cost. There are also 3 to 5-bed villas. Freehold properties on Airport Street is only open to UAE Nationals, expats are not able to purchase properties on Airport Street.
In terms of public transport, there are several bus routes running through the area connecting many parts of the city. Taxis are easy to find. Most of the apartment buildings come with 1 parking only, so this might be a problem for residents with more than one car.
Massive supermarkets are near residential buildings. There are branches of Alam Supermarket, Fathima Supermarket, Spinneys supermarket, Lulu Hypermarket and more.
There are robust mosques near the street, Muhammed Bin Zayed Mosque, Sheikh Butti Al Hamed Mosque, and more. A group of different churches is also available in the Al Mushrif area to include St Andrew’s Church, the Evangelical Community Church among many others. Hindu residents may visit temples in Jebel Ali and Bur Dubai.
There are multiple schools with different educational curriculums including ABC Nursery, Giggles English Nursery – Airport Road branch, and more. Some prestigious universities are also accessible such as European International College, Khalifa University and University of Strathclyde Business School Abu Dhabi. Remarkable Hospitals and medical centers are available in the area.
Restaurants, cafes, and hotels are also numerous in the neighborhood. Moreover, The famous Corniche Beach and Breakwater Beach are close to the north of Airport Street. Other recreational activities include Umm Al Emarat Park also known as Mushrif Central Park, Botanical Garden, Animal Barn, and more. Gyms, fitness centers, salons, and spas are also available in the area.
